Features

Processing

Best moulded at 130-155°C, with cure times 5-10 minutes. Cool moulded parts at ambient temperature.           

  • Hot press moulded - for example 140°c @ 80 bar

  • Autoclave – for example 120°C @ 5 bar

  • Co-moulding with epoxy pre-preg – for example 140°C @ 10 bar

QUANTUM-ESC® carbon SMC material

 

Matrix are now stocking and distributing LYB’s QUANTUM-ESC® carbon SMC material.

 

The grades being stocked are based on a vinylester (VE) hybrid resin, with low tack and zero styrene. The reinforcement is standard modulus 50K carbon, split down to 25mm long ‘12K’ tows. The material has a shelf life of 8 weeks at 20°C, and up to a year at -18°C.  We can offer small and large quantities, stored in our warehouse at -18°C, for next-day delivery.
